To implement the united front work requirements of higher-level Party organizations and further build collective strength for the company's development, on the afternoon of August 22 the company Party General Branch held a united front work symposium. Wang Zhichen, united front committee member and Deputy General Manager of the company, and Li Zhiyong, organization committee member and Technical Director, attended the meeting. More than ten representatives from democratic parties, people's congress deputies, and highly educated professionals participated.
The meeting focused on studying the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches, including the need to fully, accurately, and comprehensively implement the important thought on united front work in the new era, the Regulations on the United Front Work of the Communist Party of China, the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's reply to teacher and student representatives from Wuhan University who participated in scientific expeditions to the North and South Poles, and his important speeches at the National Science and Technology Conference, the National Science and Technology Awards Conference, and the academicians' conference of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering. The meeting also conveyed the spirit of Academician Li Deren's report meeting at Wuhan University.
At the meeting, Wan Lijun, deputy director of the Architectural Design Institute and a deputy to the Wuhan Municipal People's Congress, shared her experience in fulfilling her duties as a people's congress deputy. She emphasized always remembering her responsibilities and mission, focusing on national development and construction, observing people's conditions, listening to their voices, gathering their wisdom, and offering sincere advice to continuously contribute to Wuhan's economic development and social progress.
Committee member Wang Zhichen fully affirmed the positive role played by united front participants in the company's development and put forward four expectations for strengthening united front work. First, uphold a clear political stance by making the study, publicity, and implementation of the spirit of the 20th Party Congress and the plenary sessions of the 20th Central Committee the top political task for the present and future period, faithfully safeguarding the "Two Establishes" and resolutely achieving the "Two Upholds" through study activities. Second, strengthen ideological study and actively participate in education on ideals, beliefs, and national conditions. Third, give full play to each person's strengths and actively participate in political consultation and duty fulfillment. Non-Party members are encouraged to conduct research around the company's central work and offer suggestions, and to carry out research on issues of urgent concern to the people and rural revitalization to support scientific and effective decision-making by municipal and district governments. Fourth, strengthen united front forces by expanding consensus, broadening a "circle of friends" for win-win cooperation, leveraging the bridge role of Party and non-Party personnel, strengthening external liaison and friendship, and actively carrying out exchanges.
